About Us

Ivano

Born in 1991 and raised in Balerna, Ivano is passionate about sports and mountains. From splitboard outings during the winter season to chasing Atlantic waves in the summer, when he’s not on a board it’s two wheels that provide him with the freedom and mobility he needs. A snowboard instructor and teacher, Ivano schedules his time according to these passions, following the seasons and ideal conditions to enjoy what nature has to offer. Mountain biking, as well as splitboarding and surfing, requires tuning in to the natural environment, understanding its forms and timing to adapt to it. Transmitting this thought and passion for outdoor sports is an important goal for Ivano. The advantage of two wheels and what makes mountain biking one of the most versatile sports is that it knows no seasonal limits and allows this philosophy to be transferred at any time of the year. Ivano prefers long rides and believes that no descent is fully enjoyed if it hasn’t been earned one pedal stroke at a time. So while he waits for snow or waves, he pedals in anticipation between sea and mountain.

Mohan

Mohan Rusconi is a certified Swiss Cycling mountain bike guide and instructor. A passionate young enthusiast of this sport, he prefers all-mountain and enduro disciplines, focused on descent and high mountain practice. The Alpine panorama is his preferred one and allows him to practice and promote an active lifestyle related to the sports he loves. A snowboard instructor and a fan of the telemark discipline, when he’s not on the bike, Mohan practices these winter sports that allow him to explore and expand his knowledge of the territory. Many years of experience in mountain biking have allowed him to accumulate a deep knowledge of trails and paths throughout Ticino. Enriched by numerous travels, Mohan is deeply attached to the part of the world where he lives and grew up, appreciating and fully exploiting all the possibilities that Mendrisiotto offers for practicing mountain biking. It is precisely the desire to transmit this passion that led him to train as an instructor and give life to the SouthSideRide project, through which he wants to share his knowledge and promote the discovery of the sport and the places that have positively influenced his life.
